Understanding and improving our built environment

Structures. From bridges to skyscrapers they are all around us and a necessity for our day-to-day lives.

How do these structures stay intact? How do we take care of our natural and built environment? How do we ensure forces and moments are accounted for? How do we reach harmony between different materials?

How do we link academic research to engineering practice? How do we mentor the next generation of engineers?
